Purpose:

To provide officers working in the CBR environment with the skills needed to effectively and safely operate.

Required Attendees:

All officers assigned to CBR accounts within 30 days of assignment.

Completion Requirements:

  • Pass the required TAM test
  • Pass a comprehensive final exam (80%)
  • Properly demonstrate all required techniques

Introduction to CBR Security 1.0 Lecture on the CBR business and general, the purpose of security and the duties and responsibilities of the security officer in the CBR business.
Customer Service/Public Relations 1.0 Lecture and discussion on customer service and public relations in the CBR business including customers, promoters, VIP’s, owners, law enforcement, landlords, alcohol and beverage control, fire marshals, citizens opposed to the venue and the media.
CBR Operations Procedures 1.0 Lecture and discussion on the normal procedures of CBR location including door procedures, ID procedures, closing procedures, calling of authorities and determining fault in aggressive situations.
Emergency Situations 0.5 Lecture on the procedures for medical emergencies, drug overdose, alcohol poisoning, fire, riot and natural disaster.
Situations 0.5 Lecture and discussion on the use of radios, earpieces, flashlights and other forms of communication within the CBR environment including when to use radios as the primary means.
Reports 1.0 Lecture and discussion on necessary reports in the CBR business, when incident reports are necessary and what information must be collected including the use of photos.
Techniques of Alcohol Management 5.0 Lecture and discussion in the serving of alcohol, liability issues dealing with the CRB business, laws regarding the serving of alcohol, signs of over intoxication, checking ID’s and a variety of other issues regarding legal issues.
Understanding Aggressive Behavior 6.0 Lecture and discussion on understanding aggressive behavior, the effects of alcohol, dealing with aggressive people, dealing with multiple people, identifying problems and prevention problems.
Restraint Techniques 4.0 Discussion and practical application on approaching fights, breaking up fights, dealing with aggressive individuals, dealing with multiple people at one time and restraint techniques.
Defensive Tactics 3.0 Discussion and practical application in defensive tactics for personnel safety and intervening in hostile situations.
Handcuffing 1.0 Discussion and practical application in when to use handcuffs, how to use handcuffs and handcuffing techniques including handcuffing from restraint techniques.
Review 1.0 Review to include question and answer session.
Final Exam 1.0 Comprehensive Final exam to include 20 True/False, 10 Multiple Choice, 5 Short Answer and demonstration of all restraint techniques and defensive tactics.
